How to prepare it:

Boil green tea leaves or 2 green tea bags in a glass of water and make a solution. Add beeswax with almond oil, coconut oil and aromatic oil and blend it well. Double boil the beeswax solution, add the green tea solution, mix it well and strain it. Whip the mixture using a hand blender until it turns fluffy. Store in a dry container and apply it every night.

Aloe Vera Night Cream:

– For dry, irritated and acne prone skin

  • Fresh aloe Vera gel

Ingredients you need:

  • Turmeric powder – around 5 teaspoons
  • Medium sized lemon – 1
  • Curd or plain yogurt – 2 – 4 teaspoons
  • Sandalwood powder (optional) – 1 teaspoon

How to prepare it:

Squeeze a lemon and add with turmeric powder. Add curd and blend the mixture well with sandal powder. You can store in refrigerator. Sandalwood powder is a cooling agent and reduces the skin irritation. Apply the paste at night.

You can use wild turmeric powder instead of turmeric, as applying turmeric may leave the yellowish tint on your facial skin.

Apple Night Cream:

  • Peeled, sliced apple (half apple)

  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • Two spoons of honey (optional)

How to prepare it:

Blend apple and oil until it becomes soft and get a creamy consistency. Boil the mixture. If you want to reduce the flavor of apple, you may add a bit of cinnamon powder to the boiling mixture. Add aromatic oil. If you love apple flavor, you can use it directly.  You can also add honey to the mixture after removing the mixture from the flame. Apply it on a dry clean face.

Almond Night Cream:

– Saved the best for the last

Almonds can do wonders on your skin! If you suffer from extremely dry skin, especially that is very common in hot countries like UAE, you may need a nourishing ingredient. Almond provides wondrous benefits to the skin.

Ingredients you need:

  • 10 to 15 almonds
  • Cocoa Butter – 2 – 4 teaspoons
  • Rose water – 2 teaspoons

How to prepare it:

Soak almonds for 4 or 5 hours or soak it overnight. Peel the skin of almonds and make it a fine paste. Melt cocoa butter and add almond paste. Just mix it thoroughly and remove from the flame. Once cooled, add rose water and blend it well. You can store this in the refrigerator and use it for around 2 weeks.

General Tips about using the homemade night creams:

  • Apply the cream on a clean and dry face
  • You can add any choice of aromatic oil to the cream mixture – but add only at the end once the mixture is cooled down
  • Don’t overheat the cream mixture
  • Use olive oil or coconut oil or almond oil
